Pest Proofing
Sealing your home against pests — what's checked and closed

About this service
Pest proofing is the proactive approach to pest management. Instead of treating pests after they enter, we identify and seal the entry points they use — gaps around pipes, roof eaves, vents, weep holes and subfloor access. Combined with habitat modification, pest proofing provides long-term protection with reduced reliance on chemical treatments.
Pricing
This service is priced after an assessment of your property or premises. Your quote is free and fixed in writing before any work begins — request a quote or see our pricing guide.
Before your treatment
Follow these preparation steps so the treatment works as designed.
- Walk your home and note where you've seen pests enter — weep holes, gaps under doors, around pipes
- Ensure access around the external perimeter, subfloor and roof void
- Move stored items away from external walls so gaps can be reached and sealed
- Tell us about pets so we can sequence work room by room where needed
Our treatment process
Inspect
We conduct a thorough inspection of your property's exterior and interior, identifying every potential pest entry point.
Report
We provide a written report documenting all identified entry points, proofing recommendations and priority ranking.
Proof
We seal accessible gaps, install mesh over vents and weep holes, and advise on structural repairs that require a builder.
Maintain
We recommend annual inspections to ensure proofing remains effective and identify new entry points from wear, weather or maintenance.

After your treatment
What to do, and what to expect, once we've finished.
- Inspect sealed points periodically — seals and mesh can wear over time
- Keep vegetation trimmed back from walls so new entry points don't form
- Combine proofing with treatment for the best result: sealing stops new entries, treatment clears what's inside
- Ask about an annual maintenance check of previously sealed points
Children, pets & safety
Every residential treatment is planned around the safety of small children, pets and sensitive household members before any product is applied. Professional products are placed out of reach — in cracks, crevices, wall voids and roof voids — rather than broadcast across surfaces your family touches.
- Keep children and pets off treated surfaces until fully dry — typically 1–2 hours after treatment
- Cover fish tanks and switch off air pumps before we arrive; return them to normal once treatment is complete
- Remove or cover pet food and water bowls, and place pet bedding away from skirting boards and treated edges
- Tell us before treatment about pregnancy, medical conditions, pet birds, reptiles or fish so methods and products can be adjusted
- Ventilate the home after roof void dusting — open windows for a few hours if you're home
- Don't mop skirting boards or floor edges for at least 2 weeks — this preserves the residual barrier that keeps working after we leave
- Never move, open or handle bait stations or traps; store all products exactly as placed
- Safety Data Sheets for every product used on your property are available on request at any time
- If a child or pet contacts a wet treated surface, wash the area with soap and water and call us — or the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 for guidance
