Signs You Have Large Cockroaches
- Large (30–45mm) reddish-brown cockroaches in garages, subfloors and laundries at night
- Droppings like mouse droppings in roof voids and behind stored items
- Egg cases in mulch, leaf litter, compost and under timber
- Cockroaches entering via drains, weep holes and under doors in warm humid weather
- Occasional cockroaches flying toward lights on hot summer nights
Why Large Cockroaches Become a Problem
Large cockroaches travel between sewers, drains, roof voids and your kitchen, depositing bacteria on every surface they cross. The American cockroach is the largest common species and can fly in warm weather, while Oriental cockroaches thrive in damp subfloors. Even a spotless home can be invaded — they walk in from sewers, mulched garden beds and neighbouring properties.
Where We Commonly Find Them
- Roof voids and subfloors
- Garages and storage areas
- Drains, gullies and sewer entry points
- Garden mulch, compost and leaf litter
- Under timber, pavers and pot plants
How We Inspect for Large Cockroaches
We inspect the roof void, subfloor, garage and external perimeter to locate the breeding harbourage, then trace entry routes — drains, weep holes, gaps under external doors and service penetrations. Treating where they breed, not just where they're seen, is what stops the night-time wanderers at the source.
How Large Cockroaches Treatment Works — From $195
Treatment combines residual dust to the roof void and subfloor where they harbour, a residual perimeter spray to entry points and weep holes, and gel or residual application to problem drains. The treatment is included at no extra charge in a general pest treatment, with proofing advice to close off the entry routes we identify.

Areas We Treat
- Roof void
- Subfloor
- External perimeter, weep holes and entry points
- Garage
- Problem drains and gullies
How Long Treatment Takes
A large cockroach treatment takes 45–75 minutes for an average home. Activity typically drops away within a week; a follow-up at 4–6 weeks is recommended if pressure from sewers or neighbouring properties continues.
What to Do Before Treatment
Clear stored items away from subfloor and garage walls where possible, ensure access to the roof void manhole, and let us know about recurring drain activity — it changes where we concentrate treatment.
What to Do After Treatment
Leave treated roof void and subfloor dust undisturbed, avoid hosing external walls for a week, and keep children and pets off treated surfaces until dry — typically 1–2 hours.
When Follow-Up Treatment May Be Required
A follow-up at 4–6 weeks is recommended where large cockroaches keep arriving from drains, sewers or neighbouring properties, since those sources sit outside the treated zone.
Large Cockroaches Treatment Cost
Large cockroach treatment is $195 to $350 depending on dwelling type, with follow-up visits at $165 where required. It is included at no extra charge when bundled with a general pest treatment, which also covers ants, spiders, silverfish and other common crawling insects.

Warranty
Warranty: subject to quoted service plan. Full warranty conditions apply — see our warranty & follow-up terms.
If a follow-up re-attendance treatment is recommended, it is $165 per visit and will be confirmed in your quote.
Pricing Notes & Disclaimers
- Depending on your location, a travel surcharge may apply, and depending on the extent of the infestation, an infestation surcharge may apply. Any applicable surcharge is always confirmed in your written quote before work proceeds.
- Pricing: All prices are standard/indicative unless confirmed in a written quote. Pricing assumes normal access, standard property condition and infestation level, and that the dwelling remains within the stated allowances.
- Additional Charges: Additional rooms, wet areas, garages, sheds, secondary dwellings, oversized structures, commercial-use areas, difficult access, severe infestations, specialist access equipment and properties outside stated size allowances may attract additional charges. Travel and infestation surcharges may also apply.
- Results: Pest management reduces and controls activity but cannot prevent all future entry or reinfestation. Environmental pressure, neighbouring properties, weather and conducive conditions can affect results.
- Warranty: Warranty does not replace preparation, sanitation, maintenance or proofing obligations. Failure to engage recommended follow-up re-attendance treatments to break breeding cycles on active infestations will void any stated warranty coverage.
- Follow-Up Treatments: Some pests require multiple treatments because of biology, lifecycle, infestation severity or reinvasion. Follow-up visits are chargeable unless expressly included in the quoted program or warranty.
