Standard Recommendation
AS 3660.2 recommends inspections at least annually for most homes. This is the minimum — Newcastle's warm, humid climate supports high termite activity year-round.
High-Risk Properties
Properties near bushland, with subfloors, timber retaining walls, known local termite pressure, or a history of termite activity should be inspected every 3–6 months. Properties with monitoring stations are checked at scheduled intervals.
After Treatment
After termite treatment or barrier installation, inspections confirm the barrier is intact and detect any new activity. We advise on the right inspection frequency for your property and risk level.
