Treatment Options
The main treatment approaches are chemical soil treatment creating a treated zone around and under the building, termite baiting systems that eliminate the colony, and direct treatment of active workings. The right approach depends on construction, active infestation and property access.
When Termites Are Active
If live termites are found, we do not disturb them. We treat the active workings directly or install bait stations so foraging termites carry bait back to the colony and eliminate it, before establishing a protective barrier to prevent re-entry.
Chemical Soil Barriers
A chemical soil barrier uses a non-repellent termiticide in the soil around and under the building. Termites pass through the treated zone, transfer the active ingredient and die. This provides ongoing protection when maintained.
Termite Baiting
Baiting systems use above-ground or in-ground stations containing an active bait that termites feed on and carry back to the colony. Baiting is effective for colony elimination and is suitable where soil treatment access is limited.
