What a Termite Inspection Covers
We inspect all accessible internal rooms, the building exterior, subfloor, roof void, outbuildings within 30 metres, fences and landscape timbers for live termites, termite workings (mud tubes), damage, and conditions that attract termites such as moisture and timber-to-ground contact.
Inspection Process
The inspection follows AS 3660.2. Our technician uses a moisture meter, sounding of accessible timbers, thermal imaging where engaged, and visual inspection of all accessible areas. We document findings, risk factors and recommendations in a written report.
How Long It Takes
A standard residential termite inspection takes 60–90 minutes depending on property size, construction type and accessibility. Larger or complex properties take longer.
Report Turnaround
The written report is provided promptly after the inspection, documenting areas inspected, limitations, evidence found, risk factors and recommendations for management or treatment.
Limitations
Termite inspections are visual and limited to accessible areas. We cannot see inside sealed wall cavities, behind fixed linings or under solid floors without invasive access. Where high risk is identified, we may recommend an invasive inspection or installation of monitoring stations.
